۞ Thy Lord has decreed you shall not serve any but Him, and to be good to parents, whether one or both of them attains old age with thee; say not to them 'Fie' neither chide them, but speak unto them words respectful, 23 and lower to them the wing of humbleness out of mercy and say; 'My Lord, have mercy upon them, as they raised me up when I was little.' 24 Your Lord knows what is in your heart. If you are righteous, then He is indeed forgiving to those who turn (to Him) in repentance. 25 So give to your relatives what is their due, and to those who are needy, and the wayfarers; and do not dissipate (your wealth) extravagantly. 26 spendthrifts are the brothers of Satan, and Satan is ever ungrateful to his Lord -- 27 If you are not able to assist them, at least speak to them in a kind manner. 28 And let not thy hand be chained to thy neck nor open it with a complete opening, lest thou sit down rebuked, denuded. 29 Indeed, your Lord extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]. Indeed He is ever, concerning His servants, Acquainted and Seeing. 30
