And remember Our bondman Ayyub (Job); when he cried out* to his Lord, “The devil has struck me with hardship and pain.” (After seven years of patience.) 41 (We said): 'Stamp your foot on the ground, here is cool water with which to wash and a drink' 42 And We bestowed his household to him and one more similar to it – as a mercy from Us, and as a remembrance for the people of intellect. 43 and, 'Take in thy hand a bundle of rushes, and strike therewith, and do not fail in thy oath.' Surely We found him a steadfast man. How excellent a servant he was! He was a penitent. 44 Remember Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob -- possessors of strength and vision. 45 Lo! We purified them with a pure thought, remembrance of the Home (of the Hereafter). 46 And indeed they are, to Us, among the chosen and outstanding. 47 And remember Ismail and Al-Yasha and Zulkifl; and they were all of the best. 48 This is an advice; and indeed for the pious is an excellent abode. 49 Gardens of Eden, whereof the gates are opened for them, 50 Where they will take their ease, calling for fruits in plenty, and for wine, 51 ۞ And beside them will be chaste females (virgins) restraining their glances only for their husbands, (and) of equal ages. 52 This is the promise being given to you, for the Day of Reckoning. 53 this, verily, shall be Our provision [for you,] with no end to it! 54 This (is for the righteous). And lo! for the transgressors there with be an evil journey's end, 55 Hell, wherein they roast: a wretched couch. 56 There will be boiling water for them and cold, clammy, fetid drink to taste, 57 and other similar to it, joined together. 58 Here is a troop rushing headlong with you! No welcome for them! truly, they shall burn in the Fire! 59 They shall say: Nay! you-- no welcome to you: you did proffer it to us, so evil is the resting-place. 60 They will say: "Our Lord! Whoever brought this upon us, add to him a double torment in the Fire!" 61 And they say: What aileth us that we behold not men whom we were wont to count among the wicked? 62 Is it [because] we took them in ridicule, or has [our] vision turned away from them?" 63 Indeed, that is truth - the quarreling of the people of the Fire. 64
