(vii) Do not kill your children for fear of want. We will provide for them and for you. Surely killing them is a great sin. 31 And do not approach adultery – it is indeed a shameful deed; and a very evil way. 32 And slay not the life which Allah hath forbidden save with right. Whoso is slain wrongfully, We have given power unto his heir, but let him not commit excess in slaying. Lo! he will be helped. 33 And do not touch the property of the orphans except for bettering it, until they come of age; and fulfil the promise made: You will surely be questioned about the promise. 34 And give full measures when ye measure and weigh with an even balance that is good, and the best interpretation. 35 And pursue not that of which thou hast no knowledge; for every act of hearing, or of seeing or of (feeling in) the heart will be enquired into (on the Day of Reckoning). 36 And do not go about in the land exultingly, for you cannot cut through the earth nor reach the mountains in height. 37 All of that -- the wickedness of it is hateful in the sight of thy Lord has revealed to thee: 38 This is of what your Lord has revealed to you of wisdom, and do not associate any other god with Allah lest you should be thrown into hell, blamed, cast away. 39 What! has then your Lord preferred to give you sons, and (for Himself) taken daughters from among the angels? Most surely you utter a grievous saying. 40
