The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Praise be to Allah Who has revealed to His servant the Book devoid of all crookedness; 1 right, to warn of great violence from Him, and to give good tidings unto the believers, who do righteous deeds, that theirs shall be a goodly wage 2 They will abide therein for ever. 3 And warn those who say: Allah has taken a son. 4 No knowledge thereof have they, nor had their fathers. Odious is the word that cometh out of their mouths; they say not but a lie. 5 Yet perchance, if they believe not in this tiding, thou wilt consume thyself, following after them, of grief. 6 Verily We have made whatsoever is on the earth as an adornment thereof, that We may prove them - which of them is best in work. 7 Verily what is on earth we shall make but as dust and dry soil (without growth or herbage). 8 Or dost thou think the Men of the Cave and Er-Rakeem were among Our signs a wonder? 9 When the youths sought refuge in the Cave, they said: 'Lord give us from Your Mercy and furnish us with rectitude in our affair' 10 Wherefore We put a covering over their ears in the cave for a number of years. 11 Then We raised them up that We might know which of the two parties was best able to compute the time for which they remained. 12
