1/4 Hizb 31

(O Muhammad), they ask you about Dhu al-Qarnayn. Say: "I will give you an account of him." 83 Verily We established his power on earth, and We gave him the ways and the means to all ends. 84 and so he chose the right means [in whatever he did]. 85 Until, when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it [as if] setting in a spring of dark mud, and he found near it a people. Allah said, "O Dhul-Qarnayn, either you punish [them] or else adopt among them [a way of] goodness." 86 He said, "We shall certainly punish him who does wrong; then he shall be brought back to his Lord who will punish him with a grievous punishment, 87 "But whoever believes, and works righteousness,- he shall have a goodly reward, and easy will be his task as We order it by our Command." 88 Thereafter he followed a way. 89 to the East where he found the sun rising upon a people whom We had exposed to its rays. 90 So, We encompassed in knowledge what was with him. 91 He then followed (another) road 92 when he reached between the two barriers he found on one side of them a nation who could barely understand speech. 93 They said, "Dhu 'l-Qarnayn, Gog and Magog are ravaging this land. Would you establish a barrier between us and them if we pay you a certain tax?" 94 He replied, "The power that my Lord has granted me is better (than your tax). Help me with your man-power and I shall construct a barrier between you and Gog and Magog. 95 Bring me ingots of iron." Then after he had filled up the space between the two mountain-sides, he said: "(Light a fire) and ply bellows." When he had made it (red like) fire, he said: "Bring me molten copper which I may pour on it." 96 And (Gog and Magog) were not able to surmount, nor could they pierce (it). 97 Dhul-Qarnain) said: "This is a mercy from my Lord, but when the Promise of my Lord comes, He shall level it down to the ground. And the Promise of my Lord is ever true." 98 ۞ AND ON that Day" We shall [call forth all mankind and] leave them to surge like waves [that dash] against one another; and the trumpet [of judgment] will be blown, and We shall gather them all together. 99 And We will present Hell that Day to the Disbelievers, on display - 100 whose eyes had become blind against My admonition and who were utterly disinclined to hear it. 101
