Man is prone to say: "Shall I be raised to life after I die?" 66 Does not man remember that We created him before, while he was nothing? 67 By your Lord, We shall most surely gather them and the devils too; and bring them close to hell on their knees. 68 and then We will draw aside from each party those who were most rebellious against the Most Compassionate Lord, 69 Moreover, We well know those who most deserve to be burned in hell. 70 And not one of you but shall pass over it: it is for thy Lord an ordinance decreed. 71 We shall then rescue the pious – and leave the unjust in it, fallen on their knees. 72 When Our clear revelations are recited to those who deny the Truth they are wont to say to those who have faith: "Which of the two groups has a better status and whose assemblies are grander?" 73 We have destroyed so many generations before them, who surpassed them in material power and splendour. 74 Say, "The Gracious One grants respite for a time to those who are in error until, when they are confronted with what they are promised, either in punishment [in the world] or in [the approach of] the Hour, they will realize who is worse in respect of position and who is weaker in resources." 75 And God shall increase those who were guided in guidance; and the abiding things, the deeds of righteousness, are better with thy Lord in reward, and better in return 76 Note the words of the disbeliever, "I shall certainly be given wealth and children?" 77 Has he gained knowledge of the unseen, or made a covenant with the Beneficent Allah? 78 By no means! We write down what he says, and We will lengthen to him the length of the chastisement 79 And We shall inherit from him (at his death) all that he talks of (i.e. wealth and children which We have bestowed upon him in this world), and he shall come to Us alone. 80 They have taken other gods apart from God that they might be a strength to them. 81 Indeed no! They will renounce their worship and turn against them. 82
