T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Ta Ha 1 We have not sent down to you the Qur'an that you be distressed 2 But only as a reminder for those who fear [Allah] - 3 It is a sending down from Him who has created the earth, and the high heavens, 4 The Beneficent Allah is firm in power. 5 His is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth and what is between them two and what is beneath the ground. 6 Whether you say a thing aloud or inaudibly, He has knowledge of the secret and the hidden. 7 God - there is no deity save Him; His [alone] are the attributes of perfection! 8 Has the story of Moses come to you? 9 When he saw a fire, and said to his family, 'Tarry you here; I observe a fire. Perhaps I shall bring you a brand from it, or I shall find at the fire guidance.' 10 When he came to it, a voice called out: "Moses! 11 I Am your Lord. Take off your shoes; you are in the holy valley of Tuwa. 12 I Myself have chosen thee; therefore give thou ear to this revelation. 13 I am God, and there is no god but I, so serve Me, and observe acts of prayer to remember Me. 14 Surely the hour is coming-- I am about to make it manifest-- so that every soul may be rewarded as it strives: 15 "Therefore, let not the one who believes not therein (i.e. in the Day of Resurrection, Reckoning, Paradise and Hell, etc.), but follows his own lusts, divert you therefrom, lest you perish. 16 The Lord asked, "Moses, what is in your right hand?" 17 He answered: "It is my staff; I lean on it; and with it I beat down leaves for my sheep; and [many] other uses have I for it." 18 He said: "Moses, throw it down." 19 He threw it, and behold! It was a snake, active in motion. 20 Then He said: "Seize it and have no fear. We shall restore it to its former state. 21 "And press your (right) hand to your (left) side, it will come forth white (and shining), without any disease as another sign, 22 for We shall show you some of Our greatest Signs. 23 Go to the Pharaoh as he has become exceedingly rebellious." 24
