T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ TaHa. 1 We have not sent the Quran down to you to distress you, 2 but only as an exhortation for him who fears God; 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens. 4 The Beneficent One, Who is established on the Throne. 5 Unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth, as well as all that is between them and all that is beneath the sod. 6 And if you speak aloud – so He surely knows the secret and that which is more concealed. 7 Allah! La ilahla illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He)! To Him belong the Best Names. 8 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 9 When he saw a fire, he said to his family: "Wait! Verily, I have seen a fire, perhaps I can bring you some burning brand therefrom, or find some guidance at the fire." 10 But when he came to the fire, a voice was heard: "O Moses! 11 “Indeed I am your Lord, therefore take off your shoes; indeed you are in the holy valley of Tuwa!” 12 “And I have chosen you, therefore listen carefully to what is divinely revealed to you.” 13 Indeed, I am Allah. There is no god except Me. Worship Me, and establish the prayer of My remembrance. 14 The Hour is coming; I would conceal it that every soul may be recompensed for its labours. 15 Do not let those who disbelieve in it and follow their desires bar you from it, or you will perish. 16 And what is that in thy right hand, O Musa! 17 He said: This is my staff whereon I lean, and wherewith I bear down branches for my sheep, and wherein I find other uses. 18 Said He, 'Cast it down, Moses!' 19 So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent, gliding. 20 Allah said: take hold of it, and fear not; We shall restore it to its former state. 21 And thrust thy hand within thine armpit, it will come forth white without hurt. (That will be) another token. 22 "In order that We may show thee (two) of our Greater Signs. 23 Go thou unto Pharaoh! Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). 24
