Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
