The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the Terror descends 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 Abasing (some), exalting (others); 3 When the earth is shaken with convulsion 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 Thus, there shall be such as will have attained to what is right: oh, how [happy] will be they who have attained to what is right! 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 And the Outstrippers, the Outstrippers 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 Reclining face to face. 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 They will hear no nonsense there or talk of sin, 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another, 29 And shade extended 30 And water flowing constantly, 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 And carpets raised. 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
