Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 "And ease my task for me; 26 Unloose the knot upon my tongue, 27 so that they may understand me. 28 Appoint for me a henchman from my folk, 29 “That is Haroon, my brother.” 30 Confirm my strength with him 31 And associate him (with me) in my affair, 32 so that we may glorify You much 33 and remember You abundantly. 34 Surely You know us well." 35 He said: Thou art granted thy request, O Moses. 36 We have bestowed Our favour on you before this 37 "Behold! We sent to thy mother, by inspiration, the message: 38 “That, ‘Put him into a chest and cast it into the river, so the river shall deposit it on to a shore – therefore one who is an enemy to Me and you, shall pick him up’; and I bestowed upon you love from Myself; and for you to be brought up in My sight.” 39 "When your sister went and said: 'Shall I show you one who will nurse him?' So We restored you to your mother, that she might cool her eyes and she should not grieve. Then you did kill a man, but We saved you from great distress and tried you with a heavy trial. Then you stayed a number of years with the people of Madyan (Midian). Then you came here according to the fixed term which I ordained (for you), O Musa (Moses)! 40 I have chosen you for My service. 41 "Go with your brother. Take My miracles and do not be reluctant in preaching My message. 42 go forth, both of you, unto Pharaoh: for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of equity! 43 Both of you must speak with him in a gentle manner so that perhaps he may come to himself or have fear (of God)." 44 They said: Our Lord! Lo! we fear that he may be beforehand with us or that he may play the tyrant. 45 God said, "Do not fear; I am with you both. I hear and I see. 46 So go you both to him and say: Surely we are two apostles of your Lord; therefore send the children of Israel with us and do not torment them! Indeed we have brought to you a communication from your Lord, and peace is on him who follows the guidance; 47 'Truly, it has been revealed to us that the torment will be for him who denies [believes not in the Oneness of Allah, and in His Messengers, etc.], and turns away.'(from the truth and obedience of Allah)" 48 Pharaoh said, "Who then is the Lord of you both, Moses?" 49 Musa said: our Lord is He who vouchsafed unto everything its creation, then guided it. 50 He (Pharaoh) asked: 'How was it then, with the former generations' 51 [Moses] answered: "Knowledge thereof rests with my Sustainer [alone, and is laid down] in His decree; my Sustainer does not err, and neither does He forget." 52 Who hath appointed for you the earth as a bed, and hath opened for you therein pathways, and hath sent down from the heaven water, and thereby We have brought forth kinds of plants, various. 53 To eat and feed your cattle. Surely there are signs in these for those who are wise. 54
