He said: my Lord! expand for me my breast. 25 and make my task easy for me, 26 And loose a knot from my tongue. 27 so that they may understand my speech; 28 Appoint for me of my folk a familiar, 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 To strengthen me 31 And share my task, 32 that we may abundantly extol Your glory; 33 and remember Thee abundantly. 34 Surely You know us well." 35 Allah said: "You are granted your request, O Musa (Moses)! 36 And indeed, another time, already We have shown thee favour, 37 When We revealed to your mother what was revealed; 38 to lace her child in a chest and throw it into the sea which would hurl it towards the shore. Then an enemy of Mine who was also the enemy of the child would pick it up from there. I made you attractive and loveable so that you would be reared before My own eyes. 39 Then your sister followed you, and said (to the people who had retrieved the child): 'Should I guide you to a person who can nurse him?' We thus brought you back to your mother that her heart may be cheered, and she may not grieve. (Remember) when you killed a man We saved you from anguish; and tested and steeled you (in other ways). Afterwards you sojourned for several years with the people of Midian; then you came up to the measure, 40 I have chosen you for Myself. 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs, and do not be remiss in remembering Me. 42 “Both of you go to Firaun; he has indeed rebelled.” 43 Both of you must speak with him in a gentle manner so that perhaps he may come to himself or have fear (of God)." 44 They (Moses and Aaron) said: "Our Lord! We fear lest he hasten with insolence against us, or lest he transgress all bounds." 45 He said, “Do not fear – I am with you, All Hearing and All Seeing.” 46 So go you both to him and say: Surely we are two apostles of your Lord; therefore send the children of Israel with us and do not torment them! Indeed we have brought to you a communication from your Lord, and peace is on him who follows the guidance; 47 "'Verily it has been revealed to us that the Penalty (awaits) those who reject and turn away.'" 48 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Who then, O Musa (Moses), is the Lord of you two?" 49 (Moses) said: "Our Lord is He who gave everything its natural form and directed it." 50 Said Firaun, “What is the state of the former generations?” 51 He (Moses) answered: 'The knowledge of them is in a Book with My Lord. My Lord neither goes astray, nor forgets. 52 "He Who has, made for you the earth like a carpet spread out; has enabled you to go about therein by roads (and channels); and has sent down water from the sky." With it have We produced diverse pairs of plants each separate from the others. 53 Consume them as food or for grazing your cattle. In this there is evidence (of the existence of God) for the people of reason". 54
