The tribe of Thamud denied the Noble Messengers. 23 And said: "Should we follow only one man among us? In that case we shall be in error and insane." 24 Out of all of us has the Reminder been given to him alone? Rather, he is indeed an arrogant liar' 25 'They shall surely know tomorrow who is the impudent liar. 26 Surely We are going to send the she-camel as a trial for them; therefore watch them and have patience. 27 Tell them that the water is to be divided between them, a drink each for them in turn' 28 But they called their companion, so he took (the sword) and slew (her). 29 So how did My punishment turn out, and My warnings? 30 Lo! We sent upon them one Shout, and they became as the dry twigs (rejected by) the builder of a cattle-fold. 31 And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? 32 Lot's people also gave the lie to the warnings, 33 We sent against them a violent Tornado with showers of stones, (which destroyed them), except Lut's household: them We delivered by early Dawn,- 34 as a blessing from Us: this is how We reward the thankful. 35 He had warned them of Our assault but they disputed the warnings. 36 Then they even solicited his guests from him, whereupon We blotted out their eyes, (telling them): “Now have a taste of My chastisement and My warnings.” 37 and early in the morning the punishment decreed overtook them -- 38 "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings." 39 We have made the Koran an easy Remembrance, is there any that will remember! 40

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
