The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ There hath approached unto mankind their reckoning, while they in neglect are turning away. 1 There cometh not unto them a fresh admonition from their Lord but they listen to it while they are playing. 2 and their hearts are preoccupied with trivial matters. The unjust ones whisper to each other and say, "Is he (Muhammad) more than a mere mortal like you? How can you follow that which you know is only a magic?" 3 The Lord said, "Tell them (Muhammad), 'My Lord knows all that is said in the heavens and the earth. He is All-hearing and All-knowing ". 4 "Nay," they say, "(these are) medleys of dream! - Nay, He forged it! - Nay, He is (but) a poet! Let him then bring us a Sign like the ones that were sent to (Prophets) of old!" 5 There did not believe before them any town which We destroyed, will they then believe? 6 The messengers We sent before you were but men whom We had sent revelations. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know this -- 7 And We did not make the prophets forms not eating food, nor were they immortal [on earth]. 8 then We made true the promise We gave them and We delivered them, and whomsoever We would; and We destroyed the prodigal. 9 We have sent a Book, (the Quran), which is an honor for you. Will you then not understand? 10
