The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Their reckoning has drawn near to men, and in heedlessness are they turning aside. 1 Whenever any fresh admonition comes to them from their Lord they barely heed it and remain immersed in play, 2 Their minds are lost in frivolous pastimes; and the evil-doers discuss secretly: "Is he not but only a man like you? Then why are you taken in by magic seeingly?" 3 And the Prophet said, “My Lord knows all that is spoken in the heavens and in the earth; and He only is the All Hearing, the All Knowing." 4 Nay, they say:"These (revelations of the Quran which are inspired to Muhammad SAW) are mixed up false dreams! Nay, he has invented it! Nay, he is a poet! Let him then bring us an Ayah (sign as a proof) like the ones (Prophets) that were sent before (with signs)!" 5 Not one township that We destroyed before them believed. Would they, then, believe? 6 The messengers that We had sent before you were only men to whom We had given revelation. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know. 7 And We made them not bodies not eating food; nor were they to be abiders. 8 Our promise to them came true and We saved them and those whom We wanted, but destroyed the unjust people. 9 We have bestowed upon you a Book that mentions you. Do you not understand? 10
