Do not these unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were an integrated mass, then We split them and made every living thing from water? Will they not believe even then? 30 And We placed firm mountains on earth lest it should sway with them, and We made wide paths in them that they may find their way; 31 And we have made the sky a roof withheld (from them). Yet they turn away from its portents. 32 It is He who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon; each floating in an orbit. 33 And before you, We did not appoint on earth a never-ending life for any human; will they, if you depart, become immortal? 34 Every soul shall taste death. We will try you with a trial of evil and good. Then, to Us you shall be returned. 35 But [thus it is:] whenever they who are bent on denying the truth consider thee, they make thee but a target of their mockery, [saying to one another,] "Is this the one who speaks [so contemptuously] of your gods?" and yet, it is they themselves who, at [every] mention of the Most Gracious, are wont to deny the truth! 36 Man is created of haste, I will show you My Ayat (torments, proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). So ask Me not to hasten (them). 37 But they [who reject My messages are wont to] ask, "When is that promise [of God's judgment] to be fulfilled? [Answer this, O you who believe in it,] if you are men of truth!" 38 Would that the unbelievers knew that no one would protect their faces and backs against the fire, nor they would be helped. 39 Indeed, it will come upon them suddenly and confound them; and they will not be able to ward it off, nor shall they be reprieved. 40 Many apostles have been scoffed before you; but they who scoffed were themselves caught by what they had ridiculed. 41
