Did the unbelievers (who do not accept the teaching of the Prophet) not realize that the heavens and the earth were one solid mass, then We tore them apart, and We made every living being out of water? Will they, then, not believe (that We created all this)? 30 We placed stabilisers in the earth so that as it revolved with them you lived undisturbed; and We provided passageways between them so that men may find their way; 31 And We have made the heaven a roof, safe, and from the signs thereof they are averters. 32 It is He who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon; each floating in an orbit. 33 We made no mortal before you immortal. Will they become immortal after you die? 34 Every soul is going to taste of death, and We shall prove you with evil and good as a temptation; and unto Us ye shall be returned. 35 And when the disbelievers see you, they do not appoint you except as an object of mockery; “Is he the one who speaks ill of your Gods?”; whereas they deny the remembrance of the Most Gracious Himself! 36 Man is created of haste; now will I show to you My signs, therefore do not ask Me to hasten (them) on. 37 And they say, “When will this promise occur, if you are truthful? 38 If they but knew - they who are bent on denying the truth - [that there will come] a time when they will not be able to ward off the fire from their faces, nor from their backs, and will not find any succour! 39 Nay, but it will come upon them unawares so that it will stupefy them, and they will be unable to repel it, neither will they be reprieved. 40 And assuredly mocked were the apostles before thee, then there surrounded those of them who scoffed that whereat they had been mocking! 41
