ARE, THEN, they who are bent on denying the truth not aware that the heavens and the earth were [once] one single entity, which We then parted asunder? and [that] We made out of water every living thing? Will they not, then, [begin to] believe? 30 And We have set on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with them, and We have made therein broad highways (between mountains) for them to pass through: that they may receive Guidance. 31 And we have made the sky a roof withheld (from them). Yet they turn away from its portents. 32 It is He who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon; each floating in an orbit. 33 And We did not ordain abiding for any mortal before you. What! Then if you die, will they abide? 34 Every soul shall have a taste of death: and We test you by evil and by good by way of trial. to Us must ye return. 35 When the unbelievers see you, they take you only for mockery, saying: 'Is this he who talks about your gods' While they are unbelievers in the Remembrance of the Merciful. 36 The human was created of haste. Indeed, I will show you My signs; so do not ask Me to hasten them. 37 They say, "When shall the Day of Judgment come to pass if you are true in your claim?" 38 Had those who disbelieve but known (of the time) when they shall not be able to ward off the fire from their faces nor from their backs, nor shall they be helped. 39 Rather, it will come to them unexpectedly and bewilder them, and they will not be able to repel it, nor will they be reprieved. 40 And indeed the Noble Messengers before you were mocked at, but their mockery ruined the mockers themselves. 41
