۞ And We had certainly given Abraham his sound judgement before, and We were of him well-Knowing 51 When he said unto his father and his folk: What are these images unto which ye pay devotion? 52 They replied, "We found our fathers worshipping them." 53 He said: Certainly you have been, (both) you and your fathers, in manifest error. 54 They said: "Are you expressing your true ideas before us or are you jesting?" 55 He said, "[No], rather, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth who created them, and I, to that, am of those who testify. 56 And [I swear] by Allah, I will surely plan against your idols after you have turned and gone away." 57 He shattered them all, except the biggest among them, that perhaps they may question it. 58 They said, “Who has done this to our Gods? He is indeed cruel!” 59 They said, "We heard a youth talk of them: He is called Abraham." 60 [The others] said: "Then bring him before the peoples eyes, so that they might bear witness [against him]!" 61 They said, “Did you do this to our Gods, O Ibrahim?” 62 [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Nay, this one, the biggest of them (idols) did it. Ask them, if they can speak!" 63 Then they thought and observed: "Surely you are yourselves unjust." 64 then they hung their heads, and said, "O Abraham! You know they cannot speak." 65 He said, “What! You worship, instead of Allah, one that neither benefits you nor harms you?” 66 Uff to you and to what you worship instead of Allah. Then will you not use reason?" 67 They said: "Burn him and help your aliha (gods), if you will be doing." 68 [But] We said: O fire! Be thou cool, and [a source of] inner peace for Abraham!" 69 They sought to outwit him, but We made them the worst of losers. 70 And We delivered him and Lut to the land wherein We had placed Our blessings for the worlds. 71 And We bestowed him Ishaq, and Yaqub the grandson; and We made all of them worthy of Our proximity. 72 And We made them leaders, guiding (mankind) by Our Command, and We inspired in them the doing of good deeds, performing Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and the giving of Zakat and of Us (Alone) they were worshippers. 73 To Lot We gave wisdom and knowledge and delivered him from the city which practiced abomination. They were indeed a wicked people. 74 And We admitted him to Our Mercy, truly, he was of the righteous. 75
