The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Prosperous are the believers, 1 Those who humbly cry in their prayers. 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 those who pay the zakat; 4 and who are mindful of their chastity, 5 Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable, 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants; 8 and who observe their prayers. 9 Those are the heirs 10 Who shall inherit Paradise; therein they shall be abiders. 11 Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay); 12 Then We placed him as a sperm in a firmly established lodging; 13 We then turned the drop of fluid into a clot of blood, then the clot into a small lump of flesh, then the lump into bones, then covered the bones with flesh; then developed it in a different mould; therefore Most Auspicious is Allah, the Best Creator. 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 And assuredly We created above you seven paths, and of the creation We have not been neglectful. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 Then through water We caused gardens of date-palms and vines to grow for you wherein you have an abundance of delicious fruits and from them you derive your livelihood. 19 We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 and by them - as by the ships [over the sea] - you are borne [overland]. 22
