WHAT, THEN, is amiss with such as are bent on denying the truth, that they run about confusedly to and fro before thee, 36 [coming upon thee] from the right and from the left, in crowds? 37 Does every person among them aspire to enter a garden of pleasure? 38 Not so; for We have created them of what they know. 39 No, I swear by the Lord of the Easts and the Wests that We have the ability 40 to replace them by a better people and none can challenge Our power. 41 So leave them to their vain disputes and amusement till they meet their day (of reckoning) promised them, 42 The Day when they will come out of the graves quickly as racing to a goal, 43 with downcast eyes, with ignominy overwhelming them: that Day which they were promised again and again 44
