The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
118 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa') before Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 And who keep aloof from what is vain, 3 And those who pay the Zakat. 4 And who guard their private parts, 5 Except from their wives or the legal bondwomen that they possess, for then there is no blame upon them. 6 So whoever desires more than these two they are crossing the limits. 7 And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant, 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 These are the real gainers, 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, will be resurrected. 16 And indeed We have created seven paths above you; and We are not unmindful of the creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in right measure, and caused it to stay in the earth, and We have the power to cause it to vanish (in the manner We please). 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat. 20 And indeed there is also a lesson for you in cattle. We provide you with drink out of what they have in their bellies; and you have many other benefits in them: you eat of them, 21 and are carried on them and also on ships. 22
