The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blissful are the believers 1 those who humble themselves in their prayer, 2 And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allah has forbidden). 3 pay their religious tax 4 And they who guard their private parts 5 Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable, 6 But those whose desires exceed those limits are transgressors;- 7 who are true to their trusts and their covenants, 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 These are indeed the inheritors. 10 These are the heirs of Paradise wherein they will live forever. 11 Verily We created man from a product of wet earth; 12 then We set him, a drop, in a receptacle secure, 13 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creation, glory be to God, the best of creators, 14 Thereafter you are destined to die, 15 Then lo! on the Day of Resurrection ye are raised (again). 16 And certainly We made above you seven heavens; and never are We heedless of creation. 17 And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it. 18 And by means of this [water] We bring forth for you gardens of date-palms and vines, wherein you have fruit abundant and whereof you eat, 19 as well as a tree that issues from [the lands adjoining] Mount Sinai, yielding oil and relish for all to eat. 20 There is a lesson for you concerning cattle. We provide you with drink from their bellies and many other benefits. You can consume them as meat. 21 and upon them, and on the ships, you are borne. 22
