The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 those who humble themselves in their prayer, 2 And they who turn away from ill speech 3 And who pay the (obligatory) charity. 4 And who guard their private organs. 5 Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame, 6 So whoever desires more than these two – they are crossing the limits. 7 and who are faithful to their trusts and to their pledges, 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 These are the real gainers, 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 Verily We created man from a product of wet earth; 12 then We made him, a drop, in a secure receptacle (the womb). 13 Thereafter We created the sperm a clot; then We created the clot a lump of flesh; then We created the lump of flesh bones; then We clothed the bones with flesh: thereafter We brought him forth as another creature. Blest then be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 Then after that you shall surely die, 15 then on the Day of Resurrection you shall surely be raised up. 16 We have created seven paths above you; We have never been unmindful of Our creation. 17 And We sent down out of heaven water in measure and lodged it in the earth; and We are able to take it away. 18 So with it We produced gardens of date-palms and grapes for you, in which is abundant fruit for you and you eat therefrom. 19 And a tree (olive) that springs forth from Mount Sinai, that grows oil, and (it is a) relish for the eaters. 20 And Verily! In the cattle there is indeed a lesson for you. We give you to drink (milk) of that which is in their bellies. And there are, in them, numerous (other) benefits for you, and of them you eat. 21 And on them and on the ship ye are borne. 22
