The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers; 1 those who, in their Prayers, humble themselves; 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 And those who pay the Zakat. 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; 6 Those who seek beyond that are transgressors. 7 who are true to their trusts and their covenants, 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 These! they are the inheritors. 10 Who will inherit Paradise, and live in it for ever. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 and be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And assuredly We created above you seven paths, and of the creation We have not been neglectful. 17 And We send down water from the skies in accordance with a measure [set by Us,] and then We cause it to lodge in the earth: but, behold, We are most certainly able to withdraw this [blessing]! 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 And also a tree that springeth forth from mount Sinai, that groweth oil and is a sauce for the eaters. 20 And behold, in the cattle [too] there is indeed a lesson for you: We give you to drink of that [milk] which is within their bellies; and you derive many [other] uses from them: for, you eat of their flesh, 21 and upon them and on the ships you are carried. 22
