O YOU APOSTLES! Partake of the good things of life, and do righteous deeds: verily, I have full knowledge of all that you do. 51 Your religion is but one religion -- and I am your only Lord, therefore, fear Me. 52 The people divided themselves into many sects, each with their own book and each happy with whatever they had. 53 But leave them in their confused ignorance for a time. 54 Do they think that by increasing their wealth and children 55 We are hastening to reward them for good deeds? No. They do not comprehend. 56 Indeed those who are overwhelmed due to the fear of their Lord – 57 who believe in the verses of their Lord; 58 who consider nothing equal to their Lord, 59 and those who give what they give, their hearts quaking that they are returning to their Lord -- 60 These hasten to good things and they are foremost in (attaining) them. 61 And We task not any soul except according to its capacity, and with Us is a book speaking with truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are in ignorance of this (Qur'an), and they have other works, besides, which they are doing; 63 Until, when We grasp those of them who lead a luxurious life with punishment, behold! They make humble invocation with a loud voice. 64 'Groan not today; surely you shall not be helped from Us. 65 My signs were recited to you, but upon your heels you withdrew, 66 behaving arrogantly, and making fun, and talking nonsense (about the Book in your nightly chats)." 67 Have they not pondered over the word of God? Has something come to them that did not come to their forefathers? 68 Or did they not recognise their Messenger and so denied him? 69 Or say they: "There is madness in him?" Nay, but he brought them the truth [i.e. "(A) Tauhid: Worshipping Allah Alone in all aspects (B) The Quran (C) The religion of Islam,"] but most of them (the disbelievers) are averse to the truth. 70 If the Truth had been in accord with their desires, truly the heavens and the earth, and all beings therein would have been in confusion and corruption! Nay, We have sent them their admonition, but they turn away from their admonition. 71 Are you asking them for something? What Allah has given you is the best. He is the Best of providers. 72 (Muhammad), you certainly have called them to the right path, 73 And lo! those who believe not in the Hereafter are indeed astray from the path. 74 ۞ Though We had mercy on them and relieved them of the harm afflicting them, they still would wander blindly on in their contumacy. 75 And indeed We grasped them with punishment, so neither did they submit themselves to their Lord, nor do they cry humbly. 76 To the extent that when We opened the gate of a severe punishment for them, they thereupon lie despairingly in it. 77
