The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 and brightening morning, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
