I told them, "Messengers, eat from the pure things and act righteously; I know all that you do. 51 And surely this your religion is one religion and I am your Lord, therefore be careful (of your duty) to Me. 52 The people divided themselves into many sects, each with their own book and each happy with whatever they had. 53 So leave them in their bewilderment for a while. 54 Do they think that because We have granted them abundance of wealth and sons, 55 We are busy lavishing on them all kinds of good? Nay, they do not perceive the reality of the matter. 56 Those who tremble with fear of their Lord; 57 And those who believe in the signs of their Lord – 58 who associate none with their Lord in His Divinity, 59 who spend their property for the cause of God, and whose hearts are afraid of their return 60 those, hasten in good works, outracing to them. 61 We charge no soul with more than it can bear. We have a Book with Us which speaks the truth, and they shall not be wronged. 62 But their hearts are in ignorance of this (Koran); and they have deeds besides that which they are doing. 63 Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, at once they are crying [to Allah] for help. 64 Cry not for succor this day; surely you shall not be given help from Us. 65 For when My revelations were read out to you, you turned back on your heels and fled 66 Stiff-necked, discoursing thereof by night, reviling. 67 Should they not think upon the saying? Or, did anything come upon them that had not come upon their ancient forefathers? 68 Or, is it because they do not recognize their Messenger that they denied him? 69 Do they say he is possessed? Rather he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse to the truth. 70 Had the truth followed their caprices, the heavens and the earth and whosoever in them is had surely corrupted. Nay, We brought them their Remembrance, but from their Remembrance they turned. 71 Or dost thou ask them for tribute? Yet the tribute of thy Lord is better, and He is the best of providers. 72 But verily thou callest them to the Straight Way; 73 And verily, those who believe not in the Hereafter are indeed deviating far astray from the Path (true religion Islamic Monotheism). 74 ۞ Were We to be merciful to them and remove from them their present afflictions, they would persist in their transgression, blindly wandering on. 75 And already We overtook them with chastisement, but they were not submissive to their Lord, nor do they humble themselves. 76 until We open before them a gate of [truly] severe suffering [in the life to come]: and then, lo! they will be broken in spirit. 77
