Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
