O you apostles, eat things that are clean, and do things that are good. We are surely cognisant of what you do. 51 “And indeed this religion of yours is one religion only and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me.” 52 But people have cut off their affair (of unity), between them, into sects: each party rejoices in that which is with itself. 53 So leave them in their bewilderment for a while. 54 Do they fancy that Our continuing to give them wealth and children (means) that 55 We are hastening to reward them for good deeds? No. They do not comprehend. 56 Verily! Those who live in awe for fear of their Lord; 57 who have full faith in the Signs of their Lord; 58 And those who with their Lord associate not anyone. 59 And those who give that which they give with hearts afraid because they are about to return unto their Lord, 60 it is these who hasten to do good works and vie in so doing with one another. 61 And We do not burden any soul beyond its capacity, and with Us is a Book* that speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. (* The preserved tablet or the record of one’s deeds.) 62 But their hearts are in ignorance of this (Koran); and they have deeds besides that which they are doing. 63 until - after We shall have taken to task, through suffering, those from among them who [now] are lost in the pursuit of pleasures - they cry out in [belated] supplication. 64 'Groan not today; surely you shall not be helped from Us. 65 Time and again were My messages conveyed unto you, but [every time] you would turn about on your heels 66 Insolently, treating them like tales told at night." 67 Have they not pondered the Word, or hath that come unto them which came not unto their fathers of old? 68 Or did they not recognise their Messenger and so denied him? 69 Or say they: "There is madness in him?" Nay, but he brought them the truth [i.e. "(A) Tauhid: Worshipping Allah Alone in all aspects (B) The Quran (C) The religion of Islam,"] but most of them (the disbelievers) are averse to the truth. 70 Had truth been subject to their whims the heavens and the earth and all those within them would have been depraved. In fact We had sent them their reminder, but they turned away from good advice. 71 (Do they disbelieve because) you asked them for payment? The reward that you will receive from your Lord is the best. He is the best Provider. 72 And verily, thou callest them onto a straight way 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are deviating from that Way. 74 ۞ Even if We showed them mercy and relieved them of their afflictions, they would still persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 And indeed We seized them with punishment, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they invoke (Allah) with submission to Him. 76 until, when We open against them a door of terrible chastisement, lo, they are sore confounded at it. 77
