O ye messengers! enjoy (all) things good and pure, and work righteousness: for I am well-acquainted with (all) that ye do. 51 Your religion is but one religion -- and I am your only Lord, therefore, fear Me. 52 But they (men) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its belief. 53 So leave them in their bewilderment for a while. 54 What, do they think that We succour them with of wealth and children, 55 have no other purpose except to help them in acquiring material benefits? No indeed. But they do not understand. 56 Those who tremble in fear of their Lord, 57 And those who believe in the communications of their Lord, 58 who associate none with their Lord, 59 And those who dispense their charity with their hearts full of fear, because they will return to their Lord;- 60 These people hasten to perform goodness, and it is they who shall reach it first. 61 And We do not burden any soul beyond its capacity, and with Us is a Book* that speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. (* The preserved tablet or the record of one’s deeds.) 62 Nay, but their hearts are in perplexity as to this, and they have deeds besides that that they are doing. 63 To the extent that when We seized the wealthy among them with punishment, they immediately began imploring. 64 Cry not for succor this day; surely you shall not be given help from Us. 65 My communications were indeed recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels, 66 “Priding yourself in serving the Sacred Mosque; at night you utter indecent stories in it, while discarding the truth.” 67 Should they not think upon the saying? Or, did anything come upon them that had not come upon their ancient forefathers? 68 Or is it that they did not recognize their Messenger (Muhammad SAW) so they deny him? 69 Do they say he is possessed? Rather he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse to the truth. 70 If truth had followed their whims and desires, heavens and earth and all that lives in them would have been brought to ruin. Rather We have brought them their Reminder. Yet they keep avoiding their Reminder. 71 Or dost thou ask of them (O Muhammad) any tribute? But the bounty of thy Lord is better, for He is Best of all who make provision. 72 And most surely you invite them to a right way. 73 and surely they that believe not in the world to come are deviating from the path. 74 ۞ And even were We to show them mercy and remove whatever distress might befall them [in this life,] they would still persist in their overweening arrogance, blindly stumbling to and fro. 75 We had seized them with the punishment, but they did not bow before their Lord nor turned to Him in humility, 76 Until when We shall open upon them a portal of severe torment, and lo! thereat they are desparing. 77
