Say: "O my Lord! if Thou wilt show me (in my lifetime) that which they are warned against,- 93 O my Lord, do not put me among the harmdoing people' 94 And We are certainly able to show thee (in fulfilment) that against which they are warned. 95 Repel thou the evil with that which is fairer. We Ourselves know very well that they describe. 96 Say, "Lord, I seek your protection against the strong temptations of the devils. 97 I seek refuge with You, Lord, lest they should come near me." 98 (They shall persist in their deeds) until when death comes to anyone of them he will say: "My Lord, send me back to the world 99 haply I shall do righteousness in that I forsook.' Nay, it is but a word he speaks; and there; behind them, is a barrier until the day that they shall be raised up. 100 Then when the Trumpet is blown there will be no lineage among them that Day, nor will they ask of each other. 101 It will be an Hour when those whose scales are heavy, they alone will attain success; 102 and those whose scales are light, those will be the ones who will have courted loss. They will abide in Hell. 103 The Fire will scorch their faces and they will abide therein with their faces distorted. 104 [It will be said]. "Were not My verses recited to you and you used to deny them?" 105 They will say, "Our Lord, our wretchedness overcame us, and we were a people astray. 106 O our Sustainer! Cause us to come out of this [suffering] - and then, if ever We revert [to sinning,] may we truly be [deemed] evildoers!" 107 God will say, "Stay there and do not speak to Me. 108 Verily! There was a party of My slaves, who used to say: "Our Lord! We believe, so forgive us, and have mercy on us, for You are the Best of all who show mercy!" 109 But you took them for a laughing-stock, till they made you forget My remembrance, mocking at them. 110 Lo! I have rewarded them this Day for their steadfastness, so that they, and they alone, are triumphant." 111 And He will ask: 'How many years did you live on earth' 112 They will reply. "We remained for about a day or part of it, but ask those who have kept count". 113 He will say, "You only stayed for a little while, if only you knew. 114 Then did you think that We created you uselessly and that to Us you would not be returned?" 115 So exalted be Allah, the True King! there is no god but he, Lord of the Throne honoured. 116 And whoever invokes with Allah another god-- he has no proof of this-- his reckoning is only with his Lord; surely the unbelievers shall not be successful. 117 (Muhammad), say, "Lord, forgive me and grant me mercy; You are the best of the Merciful Ones. 118
