Pray, "Lord, if you would show me that [the punishment] of which they have been warned, 93 "Then, O my Lord! put me not amongst the people who do wrong!" 94 And indeed We are Able to show you the promise they are given. 95 Repel evil by what is best; We know best what they describe. 96 And say: My Lord! I seek refuge in Thee from suggestions of the evil ones, 97 O my Lord, I seek refuge in You lest they attend me' 98 [AS FOR THOSE who will not believe in the life to come, they go on lying to themselves] until, when death approaches any of them, he prays: "O my Sustainer! Let me return, let me return [to life,] 99 that I have left behind. I am likely to do good." Nay, it is merely a word that he is uttering. There is a barrier behind all of them (who are dead) until the Day when they will be raised up. 100 So when the trumpet is blown, there shall be no ties of relationship between them on that day, nor shall they ask of each other. 101 Then, those whose scales (of good deeds) are heavy, - these, they are the successful. 102 And the ones whose scales prove light – it is they who put their lives into ruin, remaining in hell forever. 103 The Fire will scorch their faces, and therein they shall be grinning. 104 (It will be said): Were not My revelations recited unto you, and then ye used to deny them? 105 They will say, "Our Lord, our wretchedness overcame us, and we were a people astray. 106 Lord, deliver us from Hell. Then, if we revert again, we shall definitely be wrongdoers." 107 He saith: Begone therein, and speak not unto Me. 108 Indeed, there was a party of My servants who said, 'Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us and have mercy upon us, and You are the best of the merciful.' 109 But you took them for laughingstock, mocking at them, until they caused you to forget My remembrance. 110 Verily I have recompensed them today, for they bore patiently, verily they are the achievers. 111 He will say: how long tarried ye on the earth in number of year? 112 They will say: "We stayed for a day or part of a day. Ask of those who keep count of this." 113 He will say: You did tarry but a little-- had you but known (it): 114 Do you think We created you for nothing, and that you will not return to Us?" 115 So Most Supreme is Allah, the True King; there is no God except Him; Lord of the Throne of Honour. 116 He who crieth unto any other god along with Allah hath no proof thereof. His reckoning is only with his Lord. Lo! disbelievers will not be successful. 117 Hence, [O believer,] say: "O my Sustainer! Grant [me] forgiveness and bestow Thy mercy [upon me]: for Thou art the truest bestower of mercy!" 118
