۞ Those who do not hope to meet Us ask: 'Why have no angels been sent to us? Why can we not see our Lord' How proud they are within themselves, and have become greatly disdainful. 21 On the day when they shall see the angels, there shall be no joy on that day for the guilty, and they shall say: It is a forbidden thing totally prohibited. 22 And We shall set upon that which they worked, and shall make it as dust wind-scattered. 23 The dwellers of the garden shall on that day be in a better abiding-place and a better resting-place. 24 And on the Day whereon the heaven shall be rent asunder from the clouds and the angels shall be sent down with a great descending. 25 the true Kingdom on that Day shall belong to the Merciful a harsh day for the unbelievers. 26 The Day that the wrong-doer will bite at his hands, he will say, "Oh! would that I had taken a (straight) path with the Messenger! 27 O woe is me! would that I had not taken such a one for a friend! 28 “He indeed led me astray from the advice that had come to me”; and Satan deserts man, leaving him unaided. 29 The Messenger says: 'O my Lord, my people have taken this Koran while deserting it' 30 For so it is that against every prophet We have set up enemies from among those who are lost in sin: yet none can guide and give succour as thy Sustainer does! 31 Now they who are bent on denying the truth are wont to ask. "Why has not the Qur'an been bestowed on him from on high in one single revelation?" [it has been revealed] in this manner so that We might strengthen thy heart thereby - for We have so arranged its component parts that they form one consistent whole 32 They bring not to thee any similitude but that We bring thee the truth, and better in exposition. 33 The ones who are gathered on their faces to Hell - those are the worst in position and farthest astray in [their] way. 34
