۞ And those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Why were not angels sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?" They have certainly become arrogant within themselves and [become] insolent with great insolence. 21 On the Day when they behold the angels, there will be no glad tidings for the sinners. They will say: 'A refuge which is forbidden' 22 Then We shall advance upon the work which they have done and render it as scattered dust. 23 The Companions of the Garden will be well, that Day, in their abode, and have the fairest of places for repose. 24 On a Day when the sky will split open with its clouds and the angels are sent down rank upon rank, 25 True sovereignty, that Day, is for the Most Merciful. And it will be upon the disbelievers a difficult Day. 26 The unjust man will bite at his hand and say, "Would that I had stood by the Messenger! 27 Would that I had never chosen so and so for my companion! 28 He verily led me astray from the Reminder after it had reached me. Satan was ever man's deserter in the hour of need. 29 The Messenger says: 'O my Lord, my people have taken this Koran while deserting it' 30 Even so We have appointed to every Prophet an enemy among the sinners; but thy Lord suffices as a guide and as a helper. 31 The unbelievers have said, "Why was the whole Quran not revealed to him at once?" We have revealed it to you in gradual steps to strengthen your hearts and give you explanations. 32 And they bring thee no similitude but We bring thee the Truth (as against it), and better (than their similitude) as argument. 33 [And so, tell those who are bent on denying the truth that] they who shall be gathered unto hell upon their faces - it is they who [in the life to come] will be worst in station and still farther astray from the path [of truth]! 34
