۞ Those who do not expect a meeting with Us say, "Why are angels not sent down to us?" Or "Why do we not see our Lord?" Surely, they are too proud of themselves and have greatly exceeded all bounds. 21 Upon the day that they see the angels, no good tidings that day for the sinners; they shall say, 'A ban forbidden!' 22 Then We shall turn to what they had done and render it vain like scattered dust. 23 The inhabitants of Paradise that day, better shall be their lodging, fairer their resting-place. 24 And (remember) the Day when the heaven shall be rent asunder with clouds, and the angels will be sent down, with a grand descending. 25 The real sovereignty will belong to Ar-Rahman. How grievous will be the day for the infidels! 26 It will be a hard day for the unbelievers. It will be a day when the unjust will bite their fingers, (regretfully) saying, "Would that we had followed the path of the Messengers. 27 Oh, woe is me! Would that I had not taken so-and-so for a friend! 28 Certainly he led me astray from the reminder after it had come to me; and the Shaitan fails to aid man. 29 And the Apostle will say: my Lord! verily my people took this Qur'an as a thing to be shunned. 30 To every Prophet We have appointed an enemy among the harmdoers; your Lord is Sufficient for you, a Guide and a Helper. 31 Those who reject Faith say: "Why is not the Qur'an revealed to him all at once? Thus (is it revealed), that We may strengthen thy heart thereby, and We have rehearsed it to thee in slow, well-arranged stages, gradually. 32 And no example or similitude do they bring (to oppose or to find fault in you or in this Quran), but We reveal to you the truth (against that similitude or example), and the better explanation thereof. 33 They who shall be gathered prone on their faces unto Hell - those shall be worst in respect of place and the most astray in respect of path. 34
