Highly blessed is He, Who has made fortified spheres in the heavens and has set in it a "lamp" and a shining moon. 61 And He it is who causes the night and the day to succeed one another, [revealing Himself in His works] unto him who has the will to take thought - that is has the will to be grateful. 62 And the bondmen of the Compassionate are those who walk upon the earth meekly and when the ignorants address them, they say peace 63 They are those who spend the night worshipping their Lord, prostrating, and standing, 64 And who say: Our Lord! Avert from us the doom of hell; lo! the doom thereof is anguish; 65 "Evil indeed is it as an abode, and as a place to rest in"; 66 who in their spending are neither extravagant nor stingy but maintain moderation, 67 And those who cry not unto any other god along with Allah, nor take the life which Allah hath forbidden save in (course of) justice, nor commit adultery - and whoso doeth this shall pay the penalty; 68 The punishment shall be increased for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will remain in it forever, with humiliation. 69 But only those who repent and believe and act righteously will have their sins replaced by virtue; God is All-forgiving and All-merciful. 70 Those who repent and act righteously have truly returned to God, 71 And they who do not bear witness to what is false, and when they pass by what is vain, they pass by nobly. 72 and who, whenever they are reminded of their Sustainer's messages, do not throw themselves upon them [as if] deaf and blind; 73 And who say: Our Lord! Vouchsafe us comfort of our wives and of our offspring, and make us patterns for (all) those who ward off (evil). 74 These shall be rewarded with high places because they were patient, and shall be met therein with greetings and salutations. 75 Abiding there for ever. Happy is it as abode and station! 76 Say (to the Rejecters): "My Lord is not uneasy because of you if ye call not on Him: But ye have indeed rejected (Him), and soon will come the inevitable (punishment)!" 77
