The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta-Seen-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever he reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 These are the verses of the clear Book. 2 Wouldst thou, perhaps, torment thyself to death [with grief] because they [who live around thee] refuse to believe [in it]? 3 If We please, We should send down upon them a sign from the heaven so that their necks should stoop to it. 4 Never does there come to them an admonition from the Merciful Lord but they turn away from it. 5 Surely they have done with denying; soon will come to them the news of what they were laughing at. 6 Have they, then, never considered the earth - how much of every noble kind [of life] We have caused to grow thereon? 7 Most surely there is a sign in that, but most of them will not believe. 8 truly, your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 9
