The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the setting star, 1 Your companion (Muhammad SAW) has neither gone astray nor has erred. 2 and neither does he speak out of his own desire: 3 Indeed it is not except a Revelation which is revealed, 4 The Lord of Mighty Power has taught him, 5 One strong of make. Then he stood straight. 6 And reached the highest pinnacle. 7 He (Gabriel) then came nearer and nearer. 8 Till he was (distant) two bows' length or even nearer, 9 And he revealed to His Servant what he revealed. 10 The heart did not deny, what it saw. (The Holy Prophet was bestowed with seeing Allah see also preceding verses 8, 9, 10.) 11 what, will you dispute with him what he sees? 12 And indeed, he saw him a second time 13 to the Lot-tree (in the seven heavens) 14 close to the Garden of Refuge. 15 when the lote tree was covered in mystic splendour. 16 The sight [of the Prophet] did not swerve, nor did it transgress [its limit]. 17 He certainly saw the greatest (signs) of the existence of his Lord. 18 (Among the idols) have you considered allat and al'uzza, 19 And Manat, the other third (of the pagan deities)? 20 What! For you the son, and for Him the daughter? 21 That indeed is an unfair division -- 22 These are nothing but names which ye have devised,- ye and your fathers,- for which Allah has sent down no authority (whatever). They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own souls desire!- Even though there has already come to them Guidance from their Lord! 23 Or shall man have what he wishes? 24 But to Allah belongs the last (Hereafter) and the first (the world). 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
