Anyone whose heart God has opened up to Islam possesses a light from his Lord. But woe betide those whose hearts have been hardened against the rememberance of God! Such people are in obvious error. 22 Allah has revealed (from time to time) the most beautiful Message in the form of a Book, consistent with itself, (yet) repeating (its teaching in various aspects): the skins of those who fear their Lord tremble thereat; then their skins and their hearts do soften to the celebration of Allah's praises. Such is the guidance of Allah: He guides therewith whom He pleases, but such as Allah leaves to stray, can have none to guide. 23 Is there anyone who is afraid of the torment of the Day of Judgment when the unjust will be told, "Suffer the result of your deeds?" 24 Those before them belied, and so the torment came on them from directions they perceived not. 25 So Allah made them taste the disgrace in this world's life, and certainly the punishment of the hereafter is greater; did they but know! 26 And We have indeed illustrated examples of all kinds in this Qur’an, so that they may ponder. 27 An Arabic Quran without any crookedness, that they may guard (against evil). 28 Allah propounds a parable: there is a man whose ownership is shared by several quarrelsome masters, each pulling him to himself; and there is another who is exclusively owned by one man. Can the two be alike? All praise and thanks be to Allah. But most of them are unaware. 29 Yet, verily, thou art bound to die, [O Muhammad,] and verily, they, too, are bound to die: 30 then, on the Day of Resurrection, you shall dispute before your Lord. 31
