And recall what time thy Lord called unto Musa, saying: go thou unto the wrong-doing people. 10 “The nation of Firaun; will they not fear?” 11 : He said: "O Lord, I fear that they will deny me. 12 My breast is constricted and my tongue is not fluent, so endow Messengership on Aaron. 13 And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me." 14 Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call). 15 Go to Pharaoh, both of you, and say, 'We are messengers from the Lord of the Worlds: 16 that you let the Children of Israel go with us.'" 17 The Pharaoh said, "Did we not bring you up in our home as an infant and did you not live with us for many years 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst, and thou wast one of the ingrates. 19 (Moses) replied: "I did do that and I was in the wrong, 20 So I ran away from you out of fear. But my Lord has given me wisdom, and made me an apostle. 21 And this is the favor with which you oblige me: You have made the Israelites your slaves. 22 Fir'awn said: and what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 Said Moosa, “Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; if you believe.” 24 (The Pharaoh) said to those around him: "Do you hear?" 25 [Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers." 26 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Verily, your Messenger who has been sent to you is a madman!" 27 [Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason." 28 Said Firaun, “If you ascribe any one else as a God other than me, I will surely imprison you.” 29 Said Moosa, “Even if I bring to you something clear?” 30 Said Firaun, “Then bring it, if you are of the truthful.” 31 So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest. 32 Then he uncovered his hand and it was sheer white to the onlookers. 33
