Verily, I fear that they will belie me, 12 “I feel hesitant, and my tongue does not speak fast, therefore make Haroon also a Noble Messenger.” 13 They hold a sin against me, and I fear that they will kill me' 14 He said: By no means, so go you both with Our signs; surely We are with you, hearing; 15 And come together unto Pharaoh and say: Lo! we bear a message of the Lord of the Worlds, 16 "So allow the Children of Israel to go with us.' " 17 [But when Moses had delivered his message, Pharaoh] said: "Did we not bring thee up among us when thou wert a child? And didst thou not spend among us years of thy [later] life? 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst, and thou wast one of the ingrates. 19 Said he, 'Indeed I did it then, being one of those that stray; 20 so I fled from you, fearing you. But my Lord gave me Judgment and made me one of the Envoys. 21 And [as for] that favour of which thou so tauntingly remindest me - [was it not] due to thy having enslaved the children of Israel?" 22 Pharaoh said: "And who is this Lord of the Universe?" 23 Moses answered: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, if you were only to believe." 24 (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Did ye not listen (to what he says)?" 25 He said: your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers. 26 Said Firaun, “This (Noble) Messenger of yours, who has been sent towards you, has no intelligence!” 27 'He is the Lord of the East and the West' said he (Moses), 'and all that is between them, if you could understand' 28 (The Pharaoh) said: "If you took another god apart from me I will have you incarcerated." 29 He said: What! even if I bring to you something manifest? 30 (Pharaoh) said: Produce it then, if thou art of the truthful! 31 So (Moses) threw his rod, and behold, it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)! 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
