HENCE, [remember how it was] when thy Sustainer summoned Moses: "Go unto those evil doing people. 10 "The people of the Pharaoh: will they not fear Allah?" 11 He said, “My Lord, I fear that they will deny me.” 12 My heart is constrained, my tongue falters, so delegate Aaron; 13 They also have a sin against me, and I fear they will slay me.' 14 Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call). 15 Go, then, to Pharaoh and say to him: 'The Lord of the Universe has sent us 16 Send forth with us the Children of Israel' 17 He (Pharaoh) said (to Moses): 'Did We not bring you up when you were a child? And have you not spent years of your life amongst us? 18 "And thou didst a deed of thine which (thou knowest) thou didst, and thou art an ungrateful (wretch)!" 19 Moses replied, "I did that when I was one of the misguided, 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord vouchsafed me a command and appointed me (of the number) of those sent (by Him). 21 Is this then the blessing with which you reproach me, that you have the Children of Israel for worshipers' 22 Pharaoh said: 'And what is the Lord of the Worlds' 23 Said Moosa, “Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; if you believe.” 24 'Do you not hear' said he (Pharaoh) to those around him. 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients' 26 The Pharaoh said, "The Messenger who has been sent to you is certainly insane". 27 Moses continued: "(He is) the Lord of the east and the west, and all between them. If you only had any understanding!" 28 Said Firaun, “If you ascribe any one else as a God other than me, I will surely imprison you.” 29 Said Moosa, “Even if I bring to you something clear?” 30 He (Pharaoh) replied: 'Show us your sign, if you are of the truthful' 31 So Moses threw down his staff and suddenly it appeared as a serpent, plainly visible. 32 And he drew out his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
