When your Lord called upon Moses: "Go to the wicked people, 10 The people of Firon: Will they not guard (against evil)? 11 : He said: "O Lord, I fear that they will deny me. 12 And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me). 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they will kill me. 14 Said He, 'No indeed; but go, both of you, with Our signs, and We assuredly shall be with you, listening. 15 Go, then, to Pharaoh and say to him: 'The Lord of the Universe has sent us 16 That you should send the children of Israel with us.' 17 Said Firaun, “Did we do not raise you amongst us, as a child? And you spent many years of your life among us!” 18 Yet you were ungrateful and have done the deed you did' 19 Said he, 'Indeed I did it then, being one of those that stray; 20 “I therefore went away from you as I feared you – so my Lord commanded me and appointed me as one of the Noble Messengers.” 21 And this is the favor with which you oblige me: You have made the Israelites your slaves. 22 Said Firaun, “And what is the Lord Of The Creation? 23 (Moses) said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if ye had but sure belief. 24 (Firon) said to those around him: Do you not hear? 25 Moses continued, "He is the Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Verily, your Messenger who has been sent to you is a madman!" 27 He said, “The Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them; if you have sense.” 28 (The Pharaoh) said: "If you took another god apart from me I will have you incarcerated." 29 Moses asked, "What if I were to bring you clear proof (of the existence of God)?" 30 Said Firaun, “Then bring it, if you are of the truthful.” 31 He cast down his staff and thereupon it was a clear serpent. 32 And he drew out his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
