And when thy Lord called Moses, saying: Go unto the wrongdoing folk, 10 The people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh). Will they not fear Allah and become righteous?" 11 Moses replied, "My Lord, I fear they will reject me, 12 And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron. 13 "And they have a charge of crime against me, and I fear they will kill me." 14 He said: Nay, verily. So go ye twain with Our tokens. Lo! We shall be with you, Hearing. 15 Go to Pharaoh, both of you, and say, 'We are messengers from the Lord of the Worlds: 16 "'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'" 17 The Pharaoh said, "Did we not bring you up in our home as an infant and did you not live with us for many years 18 And [then] you did your deed which you did, and you were of the ungrateful." 19 He said: I did it then when I was mistaken. 20 so I fled from you, fearing you. But my Lord gave me Judgment and made me one of the Envoys. 21 But the favour you oblige me with is that you have enslaved the children of Israel." 22 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "And what is the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)?" 23 (Moses) said: "The Lord and Cherisher of the heavens and the earth, and all between,- if ye want to be quite sure." 24 Fir'awn said unto those around him: hear ye not? 25 [Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers." 26 [Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad." 27 Moses continued, "He is the Lord of the East and West and all that is between them, if only you would think". 28 (Pharaoh) said: "If thou dost put forward any god other than me, I will certainly put thee in prison!" 29 He said, 'What, even though I brought thee something so manifest?' 30 [Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful." 31 Then he cast down his staff, and lo! it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew out his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
