And recite to them the story of Ibrahim (Abraham). 69 When he said unto his father and his folk: What worship ye? 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 He said: hearken they unto you when ye cry? 72 Or do they profit you or cause you harm? 73 They said, 'Nay, but we found our fathers so doing.' 74 He said, “Do you see these (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 and what your grandfathers worshipped 76 They are enemies to me except the Lord of all the Worlds 77 "Who created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 And when I am ill, it is He who cures me 80 "And Who will cause me to die, and then will bring me to life (again); 81 and whom I am eager shall forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense' 82 (And then Abraham prayed): "My Lord, endow me with knowledge and wisdom and join me with the righteous, 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 and forgive my father, for he is one of those astray. 86 and disgrace me not on the Day when people will be raised to life, 87 The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 except for him who comes to God with a pure heart. 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 And the hell shall be made manifest to the erring ones, 91 And it will be said unto them: Where is (all) that ye used to worship 92 Other than God? Can they save you or even save themselves?" 93 They will then be thrown into Hell with those who had gone astray 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 Disputing among themselves they will say: 96 'By Allah, we were certainly in clear error, 97 When we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 It was but the guilty who misled us. 99 Now we have none to intercede for us, 100 and no sincere friend. 101 If we could only return to the world and be among the believers." 102 In all this, behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 103 Surely, Your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
