Relate the news of Abraham to them. 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted." 71 He said, 'Do they hear you when you call, 72 or benefit you or do you harm?" 73 They answered: "No; but we found our forefathers doing so." 74 He said, “Do you see these (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 "Ye and your fathers before you?- 76 Lo! they are (all) an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the Worlds, 77 who has created me and is the One who guides me, 78 and He gives me to eat and drink, 79 "And when I am ill, it is He who cures me. 80 "Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again); 81 "And Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense, (the Day of Resurrection)," 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 And appoint for me an honourable mention among the posterity 84 "Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 Forgive my father. He has gone astray. 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 on the Day of Judgment when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit 88 except him who comes before Allah with a pure heart; 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 and Hell advanced for the perverse. 91 And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?” 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 Then they shall be hurled therein, they and the seduced ones. 94 And the hosts of Iblis all together. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 "By Allah, we were surely in clear error 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 It was nothing but the evildoers who led us astray. 99 Now we have none to intercede for us, 100 And not a devoted friend. 101 If we could only return to the world and be among the believers." 102 Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 And lo, thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 104

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
