Recite unto them the story of Abraham: 69 When he said to his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? 72 “Or do they benefit you or harm you?” 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said: 'Have you considered what you worship, 75 you and those ancient forebears of yours? 76 Lo! they are (all) an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the Worlds, 77 Who created me, then He has shown me the way: 78 And Who feedeth me and watereth me. 79 “And when I fall ill, so it is He Who heals me.” 80 who makes me to die, then gives me life, 81 And Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the day of judgment. 82 My Lord: Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure. 85 And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray. 86 “And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised.” 87 The Day whereon will profit neither substance nor sons. 88 "But only he (will prosper) that brings to Allah a sound heart; 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 whereas the blazing fire will be laid open before those who had been lost in grievous error; 91 It will be said to them: 'Where is that you worshipped, 92 "'Besides Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?' 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 And the hosts of Iblis all together. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 'By Allah, we were certainly in clear error, 97 When We held you (false gods) as equals (in worship) with the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 98 yet they who have seduced us [into believing in you] are the truly guilty ones! 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 Nor any sincere friend. 101 (Alas!) If we only had a chance to return (to the world), we shall truly be among the believers! 102 There is certainly a sign in that, but most of them would not believe: 103 And lo, thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 104

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
