Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 He said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship' 70 They answered: We worship idols, and we remain ever devoted to them." 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 “Or do they benefit you or harm you?” 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 You and your ancient forefathers? 76 they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, 77 "Who has created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink. 79 and when I fall ill, is the One who restores me to health, 80 And He Who will cause me to die, then give me life; 81 "And who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the day of Judgment. 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 And give unto me a good report in later generations. 84 and place me among those who shall inherit the garden of bliss! 85 and forgive my father, for he was among the astray. 86 and do not disgrace me on the Day when all people are resurrected, 87 the Day when nothing will avail, neither wealth nor offspring, 88 [and when] only he [will be happy] who comes before God with a heart free of evil!" 89 And the garden shall be brought near for those who guard (against evil), 90 and hell will be left open for the rebellious ones 91 And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship 92 other than Allah? Do they help you or even help themselves' 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 And the hosts of Iblis, together. 95 And they, while contending therein, shall say: 96 "By Allah, we were surely in clear error 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 It was but the guilty who misled us. 99 Now we have no intercessors, 100 Nor a true friend; 101 (Alas!) If we only had a chance to return (to the world), we shall truly be among the believers! 102 There is certainly a sign in that, but most of them would not believe: 103 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 104
