T H (Taa Haa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. 1 We have not sent down the Qur'an to thee to be (an occasion) for thy distress, 2 But only as an admonition unto him who feareth. 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens. 4 The Beneficent God is dominant over the Throne (of the realm). 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, all that lies between them, and lies below the earth. 6 Whether you speak aloud [or in a low voice], He hears all, for He knows your secrets and what is even more hidden. 7 God, there is no deity but Him. His are the most excellent names. 8 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa? 9 When he saw a fire, he said to his family, "Wait here. I can see a fire. Perhaps I can bring you a brand from it, or find some guidance at the fire." 10 When he came to it, a voice called out: "Moses! 11 Verily I am your Lord! Take off your shoes. You are in the sacred valley, Tuwa! 12 And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed [to you]. 13 Indeed, I am Allah. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance. 14 “The Last Day will surely come – it was close that I hide it from all – in order that every soul may get the reward of its effort.” (He revealed it to His Prophets, so that people may fear and get ready. The exact time is not revealed to the people.) 15 Let him who does not believe in it and follows his lust not turn your thought away from it, lest you are ruined. 16 "And what is that in the right hand, O Moses?" 17 'It is my staff," Moses replied, "upon it I lean and with it I beat down leaves to feed my sheep and for me there are other uses in it' 18 (Allah) said, "Throw it, O Moses!" 19 So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent, gliding. 20 'Take it, and do not fear' He said, 'We will restore it to its former state. 21 Put your hand under your armpit: it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This shall be another sign. 22 But We shall show you some of Our greatest signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh, he has become insolent' 24
